•Besides the Mynaportal app, you can register at a face-recognition card reader in a clinic or pharmacy, or at a Seven Bank ATM - so no smartphone, or a phone without NFC, is not a barrier
•If you've already registered, no need to do it again — check your registration status in the MynaPortal app
•Traditional health insurance cards stopped being issued on December 2, 2024, the last of them expired on December 1, 2025, and the grace period that still accepted expired cards ended on July 31, 2026. People without a registered My Number health card are issued a qualification confirmation certificate free of charge and without applying, so not registering does not cut you off from insured treatment
•Both National Health Insurance and employer-based health insurance are supported
•Foreign nationals with a residence card are also eligible. You can register as long as you are enrolled in health insurance
•Even after the electronic certificates on your card expire, it still works as a health insurance card for 3 months. During that time none of the other functions work, so renew at your municipal office promptly
•Since September 19, 2025, medical institutions and pharmacies that are equipped for it accept a My Number card loaded onto a smartphone as your health insurance card
•If for some reason the reader cannot process your My Number health card, the clinic confirms your coverage another way, so you pay your normal share rather than the full cost
