After moving, your new address must be recorded on the back of your Residence Card. Present your card when submitting your move-in notification (or change-of-address notification if moving within the same city) and it will be handled at the same counter.

When submitting your move-in notification (or change-of-address notification if moving within the same city), present your Residence Card at the counter at the same time

Your new address will be printed on the back of the card

No separate visit is needed — this is processed together with your move-in notification

Failing to update your address is a violation of the Immigration Control Act and may result in a fine of up to ¥200,000 or revocation of your residence status
