Steps

Go to Japan Post's e-Transfer service on the Japan Post website

Enter your old address, new address, and name to submit the request (identity verification required)

You can also apply in person at any post office by filling out a forwarding request form

Forwarding is valid for 1 year from the date of application — reapply if needed after that

•

It may take a few days for forwarded mail to start arriving at your new address

•

The online e-Transfer service is free and requires no visit to the post office
