National Pension Address Update

National Pension Category 1 enrollees whose My Number is not linked to their Basic Pension Number may need to notify a change of address after moving. If already linked, no notification is required as a rule. Not required for company employees covered by Kosei Nenkin.

Steps

If notification is required, submit a pension address change form at the city / ward office at the same time as your move-in notification (different city) or change-of-address notification (same city)

Company employees covered by Kosei Nenkin do not need to do this — your employer handles it

•

If your My Number is linked to your Basic Pension Number, no address change filing is required as a rule. You can check whether they are linked on Nenkin Net or at your local pension office

•

If your My Number is not linked, or you are an overseas resident or short-term foreign resident without one, file the change at your municipal office. Category 3 insured persons - a spouse supported by an employee - file the address change form through the spouse's employer instead
